For many years, The Gaines House purposely kept a low profile in order to respect the privacy of its clients, while working to enlighten potential employers and the public about the recovery model of mental illness. However, this low profile has caused Gaines House to be forgotten when charitable giving was being considered. In 2006, The Gaines House began a fundraising program to replace lost public and institutional funding.
The Gaines House, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax deductible.
